Elizabeth’s Bookshop & Writing Centre hosts a monthly All Reader Meetup for anyone who enjoys reading and wants a relaxed, welcoming way to spend time in community. We meet from 12 to 2 p.m. on the last, and occasionally the fourth, Saturday of each month.

From 12 to 1 p.m., bring a book and read. There is no discussion and nothing to prepare. This is protected time to settle in with a book and enjoy the quiet comfort of reading independently, and alongside others doing the same. For many, this hour becomes a small but meaningful act of self-care.

From 1 to 2 p.m., conversation begins to take shape. People share what they are reading, trade recommendations, and start to recognize familiar faces. It is low pressure, easygoing, and centered on the simple pleasure of books.

Many readers arrive on their own, so don’t let that prevent you from joining us. And know that you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you like. This is a welcoming space for introverts and extroverts alike.

If you are new, we are glad you found us. If we are not gathered in the café when you arrive, you can find the group in the small community room in the back.
