Free Poetry Workshop

  • 647 East Market Street Akron, OH, 44304 United States (map)

Join us for a generative poetry workshop with a friendly and supportive community of writers at Elizabeth's Bookshop & Writing Centre. Whether you're new to poetry or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop offers a welcoming space to explore language, voice, and creative expression.

In the spirit of our mission to amplify and celebrate marginalized voices, we encourage writers from all backgrounds to bring their unique perspectives and experiences to the page. Through guided writing exercises and community connection, you'll discover new ways to craft poems that speak your truth.

What to expect:

  • Guided writing prompts and exercises

  • Supportive group sharing (optional)

  • A warm, inclusive environment for all skill levels

  • Time to write, reflect, and connect with fellow poets

No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity, a willingness to play with words, and something to write in.

This workshop is free and open to all.
