New location. Same friendly, welcoming group.
Our free weekly drop-in poetry writing workshop is a space to slow down, breathe, and treat writing as an act of self-care. Whether you’ve been writing for years or are picking up a pen for the first time, you’ll be gently guided to discuss and create new poetry or prose.
If you are new to the group, we are so glad you found us. Returning friends, please note our new location. No experience is required, only your willingness to put words on the page. Sharing your work is always optional, and the focus is on exploration rather than performance.
Just bring a notebook and a pen and join us at 21 Furnace Street, Akron, Ohio, inside the Northside Marketplace. The building is accessible, and there is plenty of parking in the main lot or the auxiliary lots on Furnace St. past Zeber-Martell Gallery.
Most writers arrive on their own. That is expected, and you will not be the only one. You are welcome to bring a friend to write with or to check out the marketplace while you write.
We meet in the private lounge just past the checkout. Feel free to grab a snack or drink from NOMZ and come on in. Just mention you’re with the Poetry Workshop to get 10% off your order.
